I.C.E.

Lightweight opensource login controller for windows download for free

It was our first semester poject.

We were stuck with Borland-C to develop anything, for the fulfillment of our introductory course. We decided to make something useful, a happy coincidence for you.

  • Useful features for parents / More day-time for children
  • The prefect computer-screen anti-superglue.
  • Absolutely FREE, with no strings attached.

We fused CLI with CLI.

GUI is great but nothing quite beats the no-nonsense TUI attitude. Honestly though, we weren't that familiar with Borland-C based GUI and, we just wanted to get the work done!

  • Features you want, without the gimmick
  • Uber-light interface
  • Unintrusive

The behind-the-scenes story.

It was the summer of 2009, when it happened. The days were long, the sun shone high and, the sister of one of the authors' just would not get off her computer screen. Fast forward a few years(2013) and team would make that clunky home-brewed solution into something more pleasant.

  • Wrapped in C based CLI for better UX
  • Enhanced Features
  • Much more stable and easy to un/install

Salient Features

We were really surprised when we found many of these features only on paid software.

On the clock

Timer based login control allows you to set your desired computer usage period, for children.

A smart bypass for you

"How do I access my computer if it is locked?". You make your pendrive, your computer-key. That’s how.

Smartypants-proof

Designed to not fall for petty tricks like changing system time. Even penalizing in some cases.

Easily Configurable

Change/Check the existing configuration right from the interface.

Runs Silently

Your child won’t even notice it’s there

Paperlight

Ran unnoticably on a pre-2009 old clunky PC, will fly on yours!

Get it for yourself

Use as it is or, fork

Some antiviruses/browsers might identify the download as a virus, due the the presence of script files. It’s a false-positive. There are no viruses. Please check out the project on github; every part of the code is available to read.
